Greetings in the name of our Sovereign Lord!
We pray that you are keeping faith with the Word in these challenging times!
There has been speculation concerning the fate of our 2021 General Assembly, given the uncertainties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
We write to share with you that the General Assembly WILL be held next year over the period of February 24 to 28! The Executive Committee of the Jamaica Baptist Union (JBU) has reviewed preliminary plans and believes that, despite the necessary restrictions, we can host the Assembly in ways that make the experience meaningful and positively impactful.
It goes without saying, however, that the normal in-person format will have to be modified, so it is safe to envision that the event will be primarily on-line. We have included a draft schedule of the programme (click here) and among the things you will note are:
Two major slots are planned for each day (10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.);
- There are two exceptions to (i) and those are Saturday, when we may not meet, and Sunday when we will only have one session;
- We should be able to provide an update, including more details on the programme, registration fee, access platforms, satellite locations etc. when next you hear from us.
Best wishes for the upcoming Advent and Christmas seasons and we urge you to add our upcoming Assembly to your prayer list.
Yours because of Christ,
Karl B. Johnson (Rev.)
