Prayers For God’s People in this Time of Uncertainty

Most Gracious God each day we rise to give you thanks.

Great is your faithfulness toward us your people. Father, this is a time of great distress.

Hear us now as we pray for people impacted by the coronavirus in this nation and across the world.

Grant strength to us Mighty God to stand together in this time of trouble.

Make us wise in practicing the disciplines aimed at reducing the spread of the disease.

Show us how to keep connected and safe; to practice physical distancing without losing social solidarity.

Fill us with love so that we may serve each other and build up each other in the Holy Faith believing with all our hearts that this too shall pass.

We offer this prayer to in thanksgiving and hope.

In the name if Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Gracious God, who cares for all people. Reach out to those who need Your touch because of COVID-19. May they feel Your healing power through the care of medical practitioners.
Grant them encouragement, strength, fortitude, patience and insight as they struggle with the effects of this virus. Be for them a beacon of unwavering hope and confidence that there will be a better day. Surround them with the love and  compassion of others that they might be sustained in this time.

God so many are gripped by anxiety at this time God but we know that you are able to grant us your peace that will keep our hearts and minds stayed on you. Remove fear, anxiety from those whose love ones are under quarantine. Those who are  fearful of the financial hardships that will be experienced in not too  distant future, remind them of your promise to supply all our needs  according to your  riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Today, we pause to remember the innumerable members of the human family who are affected by Covid-19.

We give you thanks Great Creator that your sovereign rule is uncontested. In your wisdom, the world evolves through gain and loss; pleasure and pain; healing and hurt, life and death. This mystery we call life is a gift from you and we receive it with gratitude.

Open our hearts to accept the miracle of resurrection so that we do not sorrow like those who have no hope. Teach us in this moment of fear, confusion and anxiety to rely on your fidelity, ready for Easter joy, when the darkness fades and morning comes.

In our darkest hour, remind us, that you love is Everlasting. Strengthen our resolve to be beacons of hope, confidently living out our creed: nothing can separate us from the love of God, in Christ Jesus our Lord.

To him be Glory, Honour and Praise, forever more.

Amen.

Sovereign God, who exercises control over all things, I come to you on behalf of all persons who have been affected in one way or another by COVID-19.

For the persons who have the virus, or are under quarantine or were exposed to it, and their families, God we ask that you calm their terrified spirits as they charter the unknown, because you know all things. We ask that you help them to exercise wisdom and cooperate with the advice of medical personnel and government officials.

With so much misinformation circulating about the virus I ask that you help us to be able to identify what is fake from what is real and share only credible information so that we do not contribute to the panic that has already been created around us.

I pray for our medical personnel and government officials who at this time are not only at high risk of contracting the virus but are also who the citizens of the country are looking to for guidance and information. God I pray for their strength as they travel to and from work and the various locations they have been assigned to, I pray for wisdom in decision making and brain-storming for solutions and strategies to contain the virus and meet the needs of our citizens at the same time,.

Above all we pray that our country will use this opportunity to earnestly seek you and your will not just for the period of COVID-19 but for every move we make and every decision we take here on after.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
